Animation Using Office Supplies Only

A GIRL NAMED ELASTIKA from Guillaume Blanchet I Filmmaker on Vimeo.
Canadian-based film-maker Guillaume Blanchet has produced a short film which takes us through the adventures of Elastika - a girl crafted entirely out of elastic bands and thumbtacks. The charming three and a half minute stop-motion animation was created using everyday office supplies and takes place on a cork board - a deceptively intricate project that took Mr Blanchet nine months to complete. A Girl Named Elastika, which has won awards, follows the fearless character on an epic voyage around the world, set to the tune of a catchy soundtrack. The plucky character crosses oceans, stops by Paris's Eiffel Tower and San Francisco's Golden Gate Bridge, passes through a casino and a magical firework display, and even explodes into space - all built with the very simplest of office staples. Her mode of transport morphs from a car to a boat to a spaceship, and finally a colorful bunch of balloons which carry her gracefully to the moon. The short film made its debut on Vimeo last week and has gained over 4,000 'likes' already.

Fun Designs on Food Plate by a Malaysian Mom

A Malaysian mother has become an Instagram star thanks to the creatively-styled plates of food she prepares for her two young daughters.
Top dog:The fire is made from strawberries, while snoopy himself is a slice of toast
Samantha Lee has acquired over 200,000 followers on the photo-sharing site thanks to her culinary interpretations of Lady Gaga, Batman and Snoopy.
Samantha Lee created this dish using rice for the body, seaweed for the dark accents and omelet for the hair. She used a toothpick to carve out the sunglasses from a slice of cheese. The red sauce is ketchup.
'I've never been to any cooking class or training before. I'm a very ordinary stay at home mom,' she told Today.com.
Rice, cheese and seaweed helped create this Batman.
'I didn't expect it to grow so much. I'm thankful for what is happening to me at the moment.' Mrs Lee said she started creating her food characters to help engage her eldest daughter, then two, who ate very slowly at mealtimes.
Her idea worked a treat, and now both her girls adore making up stories about the whimsical faces on their dinner plates.
These Minions are made from meatballs covered with melted cheese. The goggles are carved out of cheese slices.
'They don't feel bad eating the cute food,' Mrs Lee says. 'They would make up some stories while eating. It makes meal time fun.'
Mrs Lee says that each dish takes about an hour-and-a-half to create, and uses relatively simple tools, such as scissors and toothpicks, to bring her ideas to life.
'I love to make something practical. Something for everyone to be able to follow'
She even posts adorable how-to videos on her Lee Samantha/Facebook

and leesamantha on Instagram pages to show fans how to recreate each plate.

More in-depth how-to instructions are published on her blog, Eatzy Bitzy.

The Invisible Photographer

Pol Ubeda's Photostream These startling pictures taken by Pol Úbeda Hervàs, who is the creative and art director of Advertising firm JWT Barcelona, is believed to have created the images through Photoshop, leaving audiences perplexed.
He said the series came from changes in his life that left him unsure of who he was. He decided to leave the shoes as a small reminder that there was at least some fragment of his personality left behind so that he was more than just a shadow.
Hervàs said: 'I don’t recognize myself any more. These photos express this feeling. These pictures are the way I see myself now.
'My shadow is there but I erase myself because I don't know who I am any longer. 'The shoes remain only to make sure there is something more than a shadow.'
Man behind the shadow: PoL Úbeda Hervàs as seen on his Facebook page Pol Úbeda Hervàs
'I’m Not There' is an ongoing series of portraits by Hervàs who divides his time between his work at the Barcelona advertising agency and photography.
Hervàs doesn't explain the nature of the experiences that forced him to question his own identity, but he wrote a few lines that accompany the images, in which he says: I am changing at this very moment of my life. I do not react in the same ways I used to. These pictures are the way I see myself now.'

Coloured Version Of B&W History

minus the art of adding color to old black and white portraits - bringing history vividly to life.
Mads Madsen an 18 years old artist began his remarkable trade by restoring and colorizing the portraits of Civil War officers. The young artist had developed a strong interest in the Civil War, he said, and adding color gave him a way to feel closer to the history.
However, he soon moved on to colorizing more recognizable historical figures.
Winston Churchill, Elizabeth Taylor, Cary Grant and Mahatma Gandhi have all gotten the color treatment.
He says each portrait takes about 20 to 30 minutes to colorize, depending on the quality of the photo and the amount of landscape surrounding the subject.
He uses Photoshop to add skin tones with light-saturated colors.
He always makes sure to keep a vintage feel of the photos - never making the colors too bright.
